A few words about me

Dr. Rosemarie Basile is a dedicated and accomplished clinician, researcher, and educator committed to providing innovative, world-class care.

Rosemarie Basile, Ph.D.

Dr. Basile began her academic journey at the State University of New York at Buffalo, where she completed her undergraduate degree in 1987. Early in her career, she worked with adults and adolescents facing traumatic brain injuries and psychiatric illnesses at The MENTOR Network and Bornewood Psychiatric Hospital. Concurrently, she pursued graduate studies at the Harvard University Extension School and gained invaluable experience volunteering in the laboratory of the renowned psychologist B.F. Skinner. These formative experiences sparked her passion for exploring the biological basis of thought and behavior, leading her to pursue advanced studies at the City University of New York’s Neuropsychology Subprogram. During her time at CUNY, Dr. Basile earned a Master’s Degree in Psychology, a Master’s Degree in Philosophy, and ultimately, a Doctorate in Psychology with a specialization in Neuropsychology in 1999. Following her doctoral studies, she completed a dual clinical and research residency and fellowship at Northwell Health’s Hillside Hospital (formerly Northshore-LIJ Medical Center).

For nearly 25 years, Dr. Basile has provided clinical assessment services to pediatric and adult populations with developmental and acquired neurological conditions. Her expertise spans a range of conditions, including learning disabilities, dyslexia, ADD/ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and complex medical disorders. She is licensed to practice in New York and New Jersey.
Dr. Basile’s research has focused on recovery factors following concussions and the behavioral correlates of change in bariatric populations. She has published extensively and frequently shared her insights as a guest expert in media outlets such as NY1, Industry Magazine, U.S. News & World Report, and the Staten Island Advance. As an educator, Dr. Basile served as the Director of Clinical Training for doctoral interns and fellows in Psychology and Director of Psychology Services at Northwell Health’s Staten Island University Hospital. She was also an Assistant Professor of Neuropsychology at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine. Dr. Basile now focuses on her private practice, where she provides neuropsychological assessments and evidence-based care. She also teaches graduate courses on neuropsychological assessment and brain-behavior relationships at a local university, continuing to inspire the next generation of clinicians and researchers.
