Rosemarie Basile, Ph.D.

Dr. Rosemarie Basile completed her undergraduate studies at the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1987. Afterwards, she worked for The MENTOR Network and Bornewood Psychiatric Hospital serving adults and adolescents with traumatic brain injury and psychiatric illness. At the same time, Dr. Basile was attending graduate classes at the Harvard University Extension School and volunteered in the laboratory of the renowned B.F. Skinner. Through these experiences, Dr. Basile developed a strong interest in better understanding the biological basis of thought and behavior. She went on to attend graduate school at the City University of New York in the Neuropsychology Subprogram. She obtained a Master's Degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Philosophy, while continuing her work with children and adults with neurological and psychiatric illness. Dr. Basile then obtained her Doctorate of Philosophy degree in Psychology in 1999, with a specialization in Neuropsychology. Dr. Basile then went on to completed a dual clinical and research residency and fellowship at Northwell (formerly Northshore-LIJ Medical Center) Hillside Hospital.

For nearly 30 years, Dr. Basile has been providing clinical assessment services to pediatric and adult populations with developmental and acquired neurological injury. Major patient populations include: traumatic brain injury, stroke, oncology, epilepsy, dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, learning disability, dyslexia, ADD/ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorders, as well as a broad range of complex medical disorders. Dr. Basile is also actively involved in her own research examining personality factors that produce behavior change and in examining recovery from concussion. She is licensed in the state of New Jersey and New York.
Dr. Basile currently works at a leading New York hospital where she works with children and adults with a variety of neurological conditions and serves as the Director of Clinical Training for intern and fellows in Psychology.
